Hood Canal Highland Celtic Festival came about with a bunch of like minded people enjoying a great family bbq at the home of Tom & Sue McDonald.  Every year they sponsored a bbq for friends and family.  Tom realized it was growing into a bigger event each year, it had already outgrown his back yard.  He wanted to have a family event, with music and vendors, and serve adult beverages. The HOOD CANAL HIGHLAND CELTIC FESTIVAL was born.

He went to the state to find a location that would fit his vision.  The first annual festival was held at Theler Community Center in Belfair, WA.  But alas, his vision grew after 2 years, and he outgrew this location as well.  The Festival is now at its current location, Belfair State Park, and has been there for the past 6 years.

This year will be our 8th annual Festival. We forever dedicate these festivities to our founder Tom McDonald, who moved on to his new adventure in heaven in 2016.  Tom was our rock. His amazing and lovely wife Sue, along with his sons Bill, and Troy with his wife Cheyenne, have taken over the reins of this fantastic ride.

With the help of a wonderful group of amazing and talented volunteers, we continue his legacy.

It’s amazing what we can do when we come together.
